About BalanceBuddy

BalanceBuddy is a free personal-finance tool that calculates exactly how much to pay each of your credit cards from every paycheck — so you never miss a due date or overspend.

Independent project · Made for everyday cardholders

Why we built it

Juggling several credit cards is a timing problem as much as a math problem. Each card has its own statement closing date, its own due date, and its own minimum payment, while your money arrives on a different schedule entirely — every two weeks, twice a month, or monthly. Miss the alignment and you get a late fee or carry a balance you could have avoided. Spreadsheets help, but they go stale the moment a balance changes.

BalanceBuddy was built to do that timing math automatically. You tell it your income and pay schedule, add your cards, and it works out a per-paycheck plan: how much to send to each card, in what order, so every statement is covered before its due date.

What it does

How it works

Security & privacy first

Sign-in is passwordless through WebAuthn passkeys. When you connect a bank, your credentials go straight to Plaid through their hosted flow — we never see them — and the access tokens we store are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. We don't sell or share your financial data. Read the details in our Privacy Policy.

Not financial advice

BalanceBuddy is a budgeting and planning aid. Its suggestions are estimates based on the data you and your linked institutions provide; they are not financial, tax, or legal advice. Always verify amounts with your bank and card issuer before paying. See our Terms of Use.
